  • Enjoy some friendly competition by playing a game or two of volleyball at South Beach, which has nets already hung.
  • Walk along the shoreline looking for sea glass and Wampum. This is a popular expedition for those visiting State Beach. 
  • Go for a swim. The waters at beaches like State Beach are calmer, perfect if you’re visiting with younger children. South Beach’s water is known for large waves, so only strong swimmers are advised to enter.
  • See what lives beneath the surface by snorkeling. When you set off from the beach, you can swim out as far as you’re comfortable.

6. Rockfish Edgartown

Just down the street from our hotel is Rockfish. While known for wood-fired pizza and American bites, the menu is full of delicious seafood options. 7. The Port Hunter

While our hotel does have bikes for guests to use, they are limited in number. If we are out when you’re getting ready to explore, visit one of these local shops. 

  • Wheel Happy Bicycle Shops: Make the quick walk to Wheel Happy Bicycle to get your adventure started. Select from a range of rental options, all of which come with a helmet, lock, and map. There’s a limited number of baskets as well. You can even have your bike rental delivered to the hotel. 
  • Edgartown Bicycles: Open since 1993, Edgartown Bicycles has been outfitting visitors with the perfect bike for them and their outings. Whether you are looking for a mountain bike or something more suited for a leisurely ride around town, there is a bike for you. They even offer delivery and pickup services.
  • All Star Bike Rentals: Have your rental bike delivered and picked up for free by renting from All Star Bike Rentals. Enjoy a wide selection of electric, adult, youth, and kids bikes as well as accessories like baby seats and burleys. 

Once you have your rental, let the fun begin! Enjoy a 5.5-mile roundtrip ride to South Beach or a longer 14-mile ride to and from Oak Bluffs. Ride around Edgartown and pop into area shops.
