Our one-bedroom suites come with a king or two queen-sized beds and a twin-size sleeper sofa. A luxury suite in our Edgartown Residence Club Wing features a private veranda and access to a private lounge. While our main hotel is closed for parts of the year, our two-bedroom luxury suits and luxury kings are open year-round, with the exception of January. This means you can book these luxury accommodations for a fraction of in-season rates. Our cozy rooms, which include a double, queen, or king bed, are a great budget-friendly option. Book Your Ferry Ride As Soon As Possible

Martha’s Vineyard is found off Massachusett’s Cape Cod coast, which means the best and most popular way to reach the island is by ferry. Depending on where you are departing from, one ferry ride might fit better than others. The Steamship Authority has departures from Woods Hole, while Seastreak is a fast ferry service from New Bedford. If you’re traveling from the New York metro area, Connecticut, or Rhode Island, we recommend the Rhode Island Fast Ferry. Ferry schedules can vary depending on the time of year, and rides can fill up quickly, so try to reserve your spot as soon as you know your travel dates. How far in advance you can purchase your ferry tickets varies between operators.

5 Places to Discover Martha’s Vineyard’s Haunted Past

According to local legend, several places in Martha’s Vineyard are known for their haunting presence and supernatural events. While we can’t confirm whether these legends are true, reading about them is a fun way to embrace Spooky Season.

1. The Vineyard Gazette Building dates back to the 1760s. Before it houses the newspaper, it was where less fortunate families lived. Those who work in the building report unexplainable happenings like coffee mugs moving.

2. Another location in Edgartown is the Vincent House, which is the oldest residence on Martha’s Vineyard. There have been reports of doors slamming and apparitions of a woman.

3. Also in Edgartown is the former Daggett House Inn. Now a private residence, it was the first tavern to sell beer and ale on the island. Supposedly, two brothers and their dog haunt the grounds.

4. Built in 1891, the Corbin-Norton House in Oak Bluffs has burned down twice. One ghost hunter says spirits caused the fires.

5. Venture to Aquinnah, and you’ll discover the Vanderhoop Homestead, often considered the most haunted house on Martha’s Vineyard. There is some disagreement about this spot, now the Aquinnah Cultural Center. Spirit hunters say they have heard a little girl screaming at night, while former residents report they’ve never heard her.

Agritourism is a growing field that combines agriculture and tourism. At its core, it is a type of commercial enterprise that combines agricultural production/processing with tourism to entice people to visit farms, ranches, or other agricultural businesses. Several places on Martha’s Vineyard offer fun and educational activities aimed at showcasing the island’s farming heritage.

A Checklist of 5 Martha’s Vineyard Farms

1. The FARM Institute at Katama Farm is part working farm, part farm-based educational hub. Stroll through the Katama Barn to say hello to sheep, chickens, and goats. There’s also a walking trail that takes you along the south pastures.

2. Morning Glory Farm started in 1975 and opened its farmstand in 1981. The farmstand is a great place to purchase sustainability-grown produce, which varies depending on the season.

3. For a different kind of farm experience, visit the Island Alpaca Company. Created in 2004, this spot now has a herd of over 50 Huacaya alpaca. Check the calendar of events to see what extra fun is taking place.

4. Located in Chilmark, The Grey Barn and Farm is the only certified meat and dairy produced on the island. Sign up for one of their delicious tastings, or stop by Monday at 10 a.m. to join the public farm tour. Check the farm calendar for details.

5. The North Tisbury Farm & Market has a little of everything. The roadside farmstand is known for having everything from heirloom tomatoes to spinach and more. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, they will pick it fresh from the field if possible. The market is also a great place to find local meat and baked goods.
