Edgartown Shops Strolling Distance from Vineyard Square

Martha’s Vineyard is famous for its lack of chain stores. The boutiques and specialty stores lining Edgartown’s quaint streets make it one of the best places in the area for Martha’s Vineyard shopping. Here are a few of our favorites just a block from Vineyard Square.

Backwater Trading Company. Did you forget to bring activewear on your Edgartown vacation? Worry not! This Edgartown staple, known for its eclectic, outdoor style, will get you geared up for an active vacation.

CB Stark Jewelers. Create a souvenir that grows every year with an island charm bracelet from CB Stark Jewelers. Take the lighthouses, the Black Dog, even a little vial of sand with you everywhere you go. Dozens of delicate charms help you create your own unique Martha’s Vineyard keepsake.

Wheel Happy Bicycle Shop. Without a doubt, the best way to experience Edgartown is by bicycle. Whether you need your trusty bike serviced or you’re ready to purchase, Wheel Happy will get you set with the best wheels possible.

Edgartown Books. Bookworms, rejoice! This independent bookstore has two stories for you to explore.  Get lost in the stacks or bring a good book to one of their cozy reading areas.

Eisenhauer Gallery. Art on the island is about much more than local landscapes. Stop into the Eisenhauer Gallery to view one of the most diverse art collections on the island. From realist marine paintings to bold expressionism, the works in this gallery offer something for everyone from the casual art appreciator to the serious collector.

Mikel Hunter. If you spot a particularly well-dressed islander, chances are they bought their clothes at Mikel Hunter. This boutique embraces a fashion forward point of view, offering artisanal and custom-made items. You’ll look so stylish that your friends will assume you went on a trip to Milan rather than Martha’s Vineyard.

Murdick’s Fudge. If you’re sitting in the Square and a delicious smell wafts by, you are not dreaming. It’s the latest batch of fudge brewing across the street at Murdick’s. The fudge is fantastic, but don’t miss the peanut and cashew brittles — yummmmy!

Portobello Road. Bring a little piece of the island home. This quirky gift store is stuffed to the gills with knickknacks of every shape, size, and style. If you’re on the hunt for a one-of-a-kind item, we suggest you start here.

Vineyard Bath Co. Have you ever wished you could bottle your Edgartown experience? This is as close as you’re going to get. Take home Edgartown body butter, scrub, or lotion, all of which are grapefruit scented to evoke the white picket fences and billowing sails of Edgartown.

Vintage Jewelry. Don’t be afraid to embrace glitz and glamour. The pieces at Vintage Jewelry will give you an air of old world elegance.  Pick up a vintage necklace or bag to complete your island look.
